I really like Boston College, and it seems like a perfect fit for me, but I’m not Catholic. I know some schools have a religious label, but it doesn’t really affect student life. Is this the case for BC, or am I going to have to convert to go here?

BC is much intune with God than those ultra-liberal Bob Jones University or Liberty University. Every morning we wake up at 5 AM for the mandatorry mass. Men wear monk robe, and women dorn a nun outfit. Latin is the mandatorry language of the school, then ancient Greek, and then English -serving as foreign language. We begin a sentence with a prayer, and end it by asking forgiveness from the Lord. Our curriculum consists of studying the Bible, the works of the Saints, and the memorization of of all the prayers through the ages. To graduate, each of us must either condemn one witch (Wellesley or Smith), went on a crusade against infidels and heretics (Harvard), or convert at least 30 Jews (from Brandeis).

Other than those, we're pretty normal and lay back.

Sarcasm aside, BC is very tolerance of other beliefs, or lack of one. Religion is never forced on anyone. 70-80% of the students are Catholics, but I dare anyone who could see the difference between Catholics student and one who is not. The administration adheres to Catholics teaching, so this is not the greatest place for alternative life-style seeker. Most students and professors are welcoming. I have had classes with Hindi, Jewish, Catholics, Protestant, and Atheist professors (although I'm not 100% sure if he is.)

haha Hindu*

Hindi is a language.

i'm not sure about the people but the campus is definitely VERY religious looking.. [very nice though] theres like ten crosses within every few random patches of grass and crosses in classrooms.... kinda weird for me as I have never really been in religious atmosphere before.

The crosses were for some kind of protest. I would have never go to BC if that was the norm.

LOL good! because i actually really liked BC before seeing that.. um Reddune- i will assume you go to BC, can you tell me about the diversity at the school? when i visited, i realized that i was the ONLY non-white &blonde head in the information session [haha] but anyway, its the same with the campus from what i've seen. even so, are there cliques and all that? or does everyone pretty much not care?
