How religious is BC?

I know that BC is a Catholic based school, but i was wondering how religious they actually are? Does the campus have tons of crosses? Is it mainly christian, or are there still a good mix of people?
thanks.

People on campus come from all denominations, but the catholic nature of the campus is not visible. The only times you see it are in your core courses (2 theology classes) as well as the mass students attend during orientation. Aside from that, it’s not visible on campus.

By the way, you do not have to attend the mass at orientation; it’s entirely optional.

^^ Do you have to take 2 theology classes?

You do have to take one of the designated year-long (2 semesters) theology classes for the core. But one of them – The Religious Quest – focuses on non-Christian religions. Depending upon which instructor you have, it will cover Buddhism, Judaism, Islam, and/or African religions.

I visited the campus and was specifically searching for the level of commitment to their Catholic identity. My tour guide was an atheist and never stepped foot in the church on campus. Overall, it seemed quite secular.

The president recently placed the crucifixes back in the classrooms, but I do not think that alone will make any kind of practical difference in the culture of the campus.

didnt they just put up crosses in all the classrooms??

One of the more popular theology courses is taught by a professor named Fr. Michael Himes. It’s only offered to juniors and seniors, and apparently every course fills up quickly.
He’s an amazing lecturer.
