How rigorous are UC Berkeley summer bridge classes

Obviously it’s berkeley, so classes are going to be hard, but how do summer bridge courses compare to normal school work (in particular freshman year, fall semester). Also if I were to fare poorly in summer bridge courses, would my fall admission be voided (I was invited to bridge program, but it wasn’t part of my conditions of enrollment)
Thanks for all responses!

Summer session is half a long as a semester, so classes cover material twice as quickly. But you should be taking only about half as many classes/units.

What the classes are like depends on which classes. List here: http://slc.berkeley.edu/academics

Whether the offerings are appropriate for you depends a lot on your placement in math and English. The offerings indicate that it is not really for the most advanced students (the ones with 5 scores on AP tests in those subjects). Some offerings (College Writing N2, Chemistry P, Math 32 and 96/98, Statistics 0PX/98) are for students with weaker high school backgrounds so that they can “catch up” and not be behind on placement in the fall.

I’m in the same boat as you, I have to do this as a condition as well. Before you send your application for Summer Bridge you had to agree that if you happen to fail one of your courses/break any rules your admissions will be voided. Kinda scary, but it’s just a good way to get an early experience of Berkeley. : )
