How rigorous is my schedule?

Hello, I was wondering if you can pretend to be working for College Admissions and rate on a scale of 1 - 10, 10 being the most difficult, my senior schedule at glance.

AP Chemistry
AP English Language and Composition
Philosphy (Religion Course)
Latin V Advanced Topics
AP Calculus AB
AP Physics B

1 – I mean, by your senior year of high school, you should be taking graduate level classes.

In all honesty, don’t take classes for the sole purpose of making your schedule “appear more difficult.” Take classes that interest you. If that happens to be these courses, then great. If that means something else, then switch things up a little bit.

How does this schedule compare to others in your school?

It depends on context; compared to the general population of HS seniors it’s probably a 9, but compared to HYP-bound HS seniors it might be a 3.

My class by class thoughts:

AP Chem: solid
Ap English Lang: A bit weak, I think of it as a junior class, but at least it’s an AP
Philosophy: Fine, but not overly rigorous
Latin: solid
Calc AB: OK, most top kids skip AB and go right in to BC, or take AB junior year
Physics B: Good, A valuable and challenging class, but I see this as a junior year class, too.

Overall a good schedule, but not up to the highest standard.

No history?

As glassesarechic said it depends a lot on your school.

It is almost impossible to rate a schedule nationally because there is so much variation in high schools unless you have more than 10 AP’s by the time you graduate in which case you’re insane! :P

Um… I will have had 11 APs by the time I graduate. But that’s fairly “normal” at my school.

By most reasonable measures yours is a very rigorous schedule. The Latin V course stands out, and the four AP courses are all in core subjects.
