GPA W: 4.1 UW: 3.9

AP Spanish:3
AP Stats:4

I took english 100, and calc at a community college.

I want to apply to school like northeastern in boston.

It seems fairly rigorous. How does it compare to other students at your school? That's the real question.

I'm a parent with a similar question looking for advice from hs students. Here's D's junior schedule

APUSH
AP English Language
AP Enviromental Science
Spanish IV
German I
PE
Arabic 101 at local college

They have block scheduling so she could take 2 more high school classes. As is she has 2 study halls. Should she pick up another college class in the spring or maybe another high school class? I'm concerned the two study halls plus the lack of math will hurt her but don't want to push her either. Thanks.

Obviously, it all depends on what caliber of school your D is thinking of applying to and what she might be majoring in (looks like foreign language from what you've presented.) I do think your instincts are correct that the lack of math and two study halls (unless the latter are partially compensated with some form of academic EC) could hurt her. What kind of science is she thinking of taking next year? If it's AP Bio, AP Chemistry or AP Physics (especially the latter), missing math for a year could be a mistake.

I've almost had the problem of my DS wanting to over challenge himself. Here's his academic schedule:

Sophomore

AP Calculus BC (5)
AP Spanish IV (5)
AP Euro History (4)
Honors English 10
Honors Chemistry
Water Polo/Swim Team

Junior (current)

Linear Algebra (on line class)
AP Physics C
AP US History
AP English Language Composition
Photography (UC system fine arts requirement)
Water Polo/Swim Team

Senior (proposed)

Multivariable calculus (on line)
AP Chemistry
AP US Govt
AP English Literature
AP Spanish V (maybe)
Water Polo/Swim Team

To the OP, your schedule IMO is more than competitive for Northeastern.

To the OP... is this schedule what you have taken... or what you plan to take?

schedule is more than competitive enough to get into northeasetern

It honestly depends on other peoples' schedules.

For here, it'd be sad. This was my sophomore schedule.

AP Environmental Science
AP Biology
AP Calculus AB
AP European History
Honors Humanities.

And my junior:

AP English Language
AP US History
Honors American Literature (Must be taken with APUSH)
AP Chinese
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics C : Mech.
AP Physics C : E&M

And senior:

AP English Lit.
AP Chemistry
AP U.S. Gov.
AP Art History
Multivariable Calculus / Linear Algebra @ Community College
For here, it's considered decently rigorous. You have to compare with others at your school. We can't tell you anything.

@OP: it looks OK but the real question is how it looks to other students in your school.
Is Northeastern a really easy place to get in or what??? Most of the Northeastern-chancers are replied with posts that say they're definitely in. Can someone explain?

It seems pretty good I think, depends on what everyone else in your school is doing really, plus, it depends on where you want to go to college. I mean, if you want to go to an Ivy, it's probably comparable to some that are apply, but probably not so much as if you were applying to state universities and other liberal arts colleges. Good luck. Where do you want to go next year? (Oh btw it looks like you aren't taking honors in your last year, that will hurt some because you've dropped from AP and Honors courses).
