How Screwed am I (honestly)?

Freshman year I decided it would be a good idea to slack. By slack, I mean so bad that I got a D+ in AP HuG one trimester. Fast forward to the 3rd trimester of junior year and it hurt me. Badly. Aside from freshman year I’ve gotten practically straight A’s, but because of freshman year my unweighted GPA dropped from a potential 3.95 to barely a 3.7 and my class rank is 67 because of this (weighted GPA went from a potential 4.35 to a 3.9). I do a lot in terms of extra curricular’s. I’m on the varsity track team, varsity cross country team, got a scholarship to a jazz camp for exceptional guitar playing, am on the band leadership team, apart of NHS, started and lead a drumline and jazz combo at my school, and am apart of many other clubs as well.

My question is how badly will my freshman year stupidity hurt my chances at getting into a decent college, assuming a good ACT score when I take it? I was thinking of applying to Madison, but is that too far out of reach?

Thank you!

Many schools will look at grade trends. Focus on prepping for the ACT and working hard with your classes going forward, You can’t change your freshman year now.
