How screwed am I (please be honest)

I am currently a freshman at a school in NC and I HATE it. I was planning on applying to uchicago as a transfer student but I thought their deadline was on the 15th, not the first. I will admit that I have not done well my first semester but I wanted to give it a shot anyway. what should I do...

you are screwed. have you sent any of your things into uchicago? If your application is missing one or two things they may accept them, but otherwise I would say just wait to apply for next spring if they have that, or apply somewhere else if it is that bad in NC.

uhh if you missed the deadline, then it might be too late. tough it out another year, and then be on top of things for the next year and you might be in better shape.

honestly, you can’t be that serious about uchicago if you thought their deadline was the 15th. also, the process of transfer requires more than a week of work. you need to get recs, scores sent, the whole shebang. so in your case, id wait to bring up your grades anyway.

From your posting history it looks like you applied to UChicago as a freshman and weren’t accepted. If that’s true, along with not doing well first semester at your current school, and missing the deadline…it doesn’t sound very promising to me.

no i actually got in last year, ea

Do they allow late submissions? I know some colleges will still consider applications after the deadline on space-available basis.

At Georgetown, I know someone who transferred into the School of Foreign Service from Columbia College a month after the transfer application was due. Then again…he was coming from Columbia into Georgetown.

I doubt it matters much if your app is just a couple of days late. Go ahead and apply if you could manage to put everything together in the next couple of days.

I might suggest you to apply if you are despreate to die in ur current school, I’m not kidding. honestly this piece of advice is really risky: 1) they might rej u since u missed the deadline and u didnt do very well for the 1st semester; 2) if uchicago keep a transfer record, they rej u this yr, and it might bring about some negtive effect for ur application to uchicago next year, i mean if uchicago is ur dream school and u regard it as ur first choice; 3) they might want to know why u turn down the offer for the freshman acceptance and now you are marching back.
best of luck anyway! make ur essay more reasonable and appealing!
u didnt post any stats here so I cant say if you have a chance or not.
