like i dont know, ive heard business is selective everywhere i really want to get in Northeastern for International Business.. Does anyone know the avg stat?

Heres my Stats:
Sat I's: Verbal: 600 Math:760 Writing: 700
Sat II's: Chinese:750
Math I:730
Math II:770
Physics:680

High School:
Gpa:97.09 out of 110 possible (Weighted)
Rank: 90ish/530
All Normal Classes at our school are weighted as Honors cause our school is very competitive.
Courses this year:
AP Calc BC
AP English
AP Chinese 4
AP Stats
Ap Government
Im getting an Avg C in Calc so it might drag me down a bit, but my couselor says that shell explain that BC is the hardest course at the school

do you do this on purpose to make other people feel inferior? you're in all APs and you have a high gpa ......and good SAT scores. i think you'll be fine. why dont you check collegeboard or something? i am not trying to be mean, but people who wonder about their chances usually are "on the line" per say. i wouldn't say you're on the line at all. oh, wow, a C in the hardest class in school. i highly doubt that's really going to hurt your chances.

u kidding? I dont think the GPA's as high as you described it since it's wieghted....the SATs arent close to stellar.....

to the OP: I think it's somewhere around match and safety...but they might think that you use them as safety and waitlist or reject you..
that's what happened to one of our kids, 4.0 GPA 1580/1600 GPA, rejected for EA ahahahahahahahaha

bearcats,
I am happy for you that you got into schools that were a better fit for you but I think you are incorrect. Northeastern is becoming more selective every year. Take a look at the stats. Perhaps since you have already moved on you should post on other pages...

oh, i thought getting in the School of Business at Northeastern was actually quite selective? Im applying to that specific school, not the general arts and sciences one.. were you guys basing your info on the arts and sciences school?

A number of programs at Northeastern are more selective than others. For example, the Bouve nursing, pharmacy, and physical therapy programs have limited spaces and lots of applicants because NU is one of the few schools (only 14 in the US) that offer a 6-year doctorate program that accepts freshmen directly from high school (with guaranteed spots as long as the required grade point is maintained and the degree requirements are fulfilled.)

There have been other extremely positive postings in CC by employers who have hired NU business and engineering students for co-ops who have highly recommended the school.

Your best bet is to ask someone in the admissions office to email you the information about the breakdown of applicants for each of the schools (business, Bouve, engineering.) I saw this information last year in one of the brochures and the admit stats do vary for applicants in different programs.

This sorta happened to my friend, although she wasn't as qualified as the kid in your school. She got more merit aid from NYU (which has a stingy rep) than she did form Northeastern and people with SATs 100 points lower than hers and lower GPAs got like 11k & up in merit aid while all she got was 2.5k. The thing is she really would've gone to NEU if they gave her a 5-figure annual scholarship. It's not even like she broke 1400 on the SATs either. I really have no clue as to how the NEU admissions goes about their merit scholarships...

what i really want to know is why you would apply to a school without knowing any information about it pertaining to your major? i'd understand if you were a junior curious about applying, but you've just proved that you applied to a school without doing any research, taking up a spot of a person who did their research and really wants to go to northeastern for their business school.

nah i really did look up the stats. but the avg GPA is probably higher than mine unweighted! so i still dont know if i have a chance. Boston and NEU are my top choices. Plus my rank is not that high either
