How should I answer paired passage questions?

Like how line 60 of passage 2 would be interpreted by the author of passage one?
Also how the "scholars" (example) in line 40 would think of "luxury" in line 4?

How should I answer these questions since it's harder to find the answers in the text?

Thanks.

I usually answer those questions last. I star the lines, pay careful attention to them, then go back to them after I’ve finished answering the passage-specific questions. Notes don’t help me, but if you find jotting thoughts down helpful in remembering what a specific paragraph is about, then I’d recommend doing that.

So is the answer still someone in the passage?

Indirectly. The answer is always backed up by something the author said in the passage, but you also have to “read in between the lines” and understand the general position of each author to answer those questions.

Yeah I thought so. These questions make me panic a bit.
