I thoguht I have a 2.94 GPA but I miscalculated. I have a 2.81 GPA and is right on the border to even have the eligbility to apply.

I am wondering if I should try apply through qualification by examination only or the regular way. Is there a difference? Which will give me a better chance?

Entry by exam requires 3450/4000 (sat and 2 sat 2) and I have a 3630 (breaking down to 770m 690 v 640w 730ush 800chinese)

So the eligibility by test score only option is the same application as the regular one? Oh...lol. Does anyone know if anyone actually gets in that way?

All the same?

Eligibility in the Statewide Context | Students who meet minimum requirements for coursework, grade point average and test scores are admitted by this path.

Eligibility in the Local Context (ELC) | Students who rank in the top 4 percent at participating California high schools may be admitted through ELC.

Eligibility by Examination Alone | Students who do not meet the requirements for Eligibility in the Statewide Context or ELC may qualify for admission by achieving high scores on the SAT I or ACT and SAT IIs.

Isn't there a certain requirement in which your GPA becomes converted into a score & is combined with your SAT I score to see if you are eligible in terms of meeting the number of points that are required?

Eligibility by Examination Alone | Students who do not meet the requirements for Eligibility in the Statewide Context or ELC may qualify for admission by achieving high scores on the SAT I or ACT and SAT IIs.

I believe the minimum is 3450. Does 3630 stand a chance?

click on the link provided by kchen and then click on 'check your eligibility for admission' -- its an online stats calculator for eligibility. But, you'll need your correct UC-gpa.
