How should I approach asking about this?

So for each of my three schools I have an acceptance and either a scholarship offer or the financial aid package but I don't have both yet from any of them. I was told via email at Iowa that I'd be getting some kind of scholarship but it hasn't come yet. I got the financial aid package yesterday though and it's really unclear what they mean but apparently my mom understands it... not sure if she really does haha but that's another story. For Lawrence I got my scholarship yesterday but the financial aid hasn't come out yet. I got an academic scholarship at Cincinnati but I'm kind of under the impression I won't be getting anything merit-based.

So...

A) Does anyone know when Iowa sends out scholarship info or when Lawrence or Cincinnati send out financial aid packages? (Granted, my mom's accountant and the FASFA website both screwed up with Cincinnati since they ask for something different as proof than the other two. I don't know details but I'd like to know when roughly I should expect all this... probably later than it would be otherwise due to the screw-up.)

B) Is it okay for me to contact these schools and ask when I should expect to receive all this info?

C) If the answer to part B is yes, who should I talk to? I'm assuming the office of financial aid for LU and CCM and the professors themselves for UI?

Any help would be appreciated on this. I know I probably sound impatient but I'm ready to be done with high school and simply knowing where I'm going next year would be a huge help. (Yes, that does imply that money is a greater factor in the decision than I'd like it to be but that one's also another story.)

Don’t know about those schools in particular but S found out from Illinois school by beginning of April but Texas school was late April. You have till May 1st to decide and he decided April 28th last year. We are still waiting for financial aid pkg for next year at the school he is currently attending but March 1st was priority deadline for FAFSA so I don’t anticipate it coming in March

I spoke with the Cincinnati financial aid office last week and while most UC students learn their aid packages April 1, she told me CCM students get their combined aid/scholarship info by April 6 typically. There is a “check my status” page for financial aid that is different than the one for admissions, fyi. Oh and while I’m posting, congratulations on the Lawrence news!

Thanks for the info and the congratulations!

It’s never smart to talk to the profs about financial aid in this circumstance; they really don’t know what’s available or what is going on in other offices and they have their own teaching responsibilities, which at this time of year include recitals. A call to the financial aid offices at schools will give you the answers you need and no one would fault you for asking. Congratulations, by the way!

Thanks! I wish these things would come with the decision but oh well, I guess I’ll have to wait.
