how should i ask for recommendations?

hey guys, how should i ask?
what should i say and should i give them a resume and a letter stating why I'm going to these schools?
how should do it? should i go to their classroom when its empty and just ask?
how long of a notice should i give?

help please!! thanks

Go to them after school or email them and asking if they will do your letter of rec.
if they say yes, they will tell you to send you stuff. If the teacher does not, then say you will send your resume. ask them now. about 1 or 2 months before it is due.

Butter them up just a bit. Say, “I really appreciated your instruction and I was wondering if you could do a teacher recommendation for me.” It’s very few times you will encounter a teacher who will say no. After that give them a quick resume of things you’ve accomplished in high school. I would ask before or after class by the way so that way it’s more personal and you’re not distracting or disrupting the learning environment. You should give a notice of a month or a month and a half. Make sure to be extremely grateful as well, give them thank you cards when you are done.

Just ask politely and in a straightforward manner. You could mention why you chose him/her (especially enjoy his/her class, the subject etc.) And do it now. Many people line up recommendations at the end of junior year so this might be considered late. If the teacher agrees to write a recommendation first say thanks and then you can ask him/her if there is any information that he/she would like you to provide. .

If you are a senior, you better figure out something quickly. It’s already October and you’re behind.
