How should I calculate my gpa?

Im a current junior in hs. My gpa has me worried and confused all the time. I go to a super tough international school and I am doing the full IB diploma. The thing is, the grading scale at my school is really weird. A 99-100 is an A+. 96-98 is an A. A 94-95 is an A-. I realize that this is a much tougher grading scale than 99% of schools out there. The thing that sucks even more is that our school only gives a slight weight to it. To better understand, here are my current grades( letter grade is on the grading scale of my school)-

IB Economics HL- 90 (B) [3.5 gpa]
IB Lang+Lit HL- 94 (A-) [4.2 gpa]
IB Math SL- 90 (B) [3.0 gpa (since its an sl class=less weight)]
IB Psychology HL- 92 (B+) [3.8]
IB Bio SL- 90 (B-) [3.0 gpa]
Web Design- 95 (A-) [3.7 gpa]
IB Spanish SL- 95 (A-) [3.7 gpa]

When you calculate the weighted gpa scale my school gives, its only a 3.55 WEIGHTED GPA. This is pretty embarrasing when you look at a lot of college stats. But the thing is, when you look at a lot of grading scales of universities, a 97 is an A+ and anywhere down to 90 or even 89 is A-. Plus, a lot of universities give a full 1.0 gpa boost for IB rather than the 0.5 that my school gives. For many universities, my gpa would actually be near a 4.2 to even up to 4.4 in some cases. This is much nicer. In terms of class ranking I have no clue, but I can tell you that I am average or if not average slightly above average (remember, I go to a super tough school in korea where 11% of students went to ivy league last year, so im quite happy with average. ) My question is, will my school calculate my gpa for me or will colleges do that? Also, will they calculate the letter grade or percentage (cause if the calculate percentage, my gpa is actually a really nice gpa).

Thanks

It depends. Some HS’s list a cumulative GPA on the transcript, others will not. Ask your counsellor. In terms of colleges, some will recalculate your GPA; most will not. At any rate, it is what it is, so no use worrying about it.

Which shows on your transcript? Most transcripts only show one or the other.

In any event, you school will undoubtedly put your GPA in context with other students within your class, so you really should not focus on students at other schools.
