How should I go about declining my Honors College acceptance?

I applied for the Burnett Honors College in November and was accepted shortly thereafter. However, I've decided to attend UF and have a couple friends who were not immediately accepted to UCF Honors. Their letter told them that they are not going to be accepted right away and will receive a decision later after other applicants have been reviewed. I'd like to hope me declining my acceptance could help them, so do you think I should call Burnett and inform them that I don't plan on attending UCF?

I don't know whether it will help those whose decisions have been deferred, but I think it's the right thing to do, either way.
Same with the acceptance to UCF. There are lots of folks waiting for spots, and also it would help the university free up any merit aid that you were offered.

Good luck as a Gator!

They'll probably want something in writing.

Just e-mail the college and say "I will not be attending UCF and therefore decline admission into the Honors College" and include your name and PID (if you still have it).

Congratulations on making your decision, best of luck at Florida.

posting on kindle. computer is dead. anyway turned down pegasus scholarship today. will send letter to honors college resigning d''s spot and turning down their scholarship too. wish i could move burnett to uf because it has been great for s. zebes, wondering if this will post.
