<p>I am related (not mom or dad, but close family) to a person who graduated from Stanford to become a very successful entrepreneur, then a president of a prestigious university in my country, and then a minister in my government.</p>
<p>I've got a recommendation letter from that person, but I don't know if I should submit it. On the one hand Stanford says it doesn't like extra rec letters, but my dad says that having a student that's related to a person of such a high profile is something Stanford would like. Whether that's true or not, I don't know, but it does make some sense to me...</p>
