how should i prepare for the high school academic decathlon

This is my first year in my high school acadeca team. I'm not sure whether I should study all the subjects, or if I should focus in on a few of them. My goal is to get the most golds as I can get.

Among the different subject areas, my areas of interest are (in order): math, science, history (super quiz?), economics. If I am to specialize, I'd do those four.

Thanks for the help and advice.

i know nothing about academic decathlon, but i just wanted to say i like your screen name – MICHAEL JACKSON FTW.

Don’t know what you are talking about. Definitely not friend worthy.

I’m on academic team at my school, but I’m not sure if that’s the same thing. Generally, it’s best to be really good in one or two arenas. The arenas I’m the best at don’t come up too much (Art History) so don’t specialize too much, or if you do, have multiple areas. I get all the Art Hist. points, but there aren’t too many, and I don’t get many others. We have one kid who knows pretty much everything about WWI, WWII, and Norse mythology. We have another kid who does German, science, Norse mythology, and math. We have another guy who does geography, science and math. So those two guys are really helpful. We also have a few polyhistors, but those people are basically like that naturally. If you’re going to study up, it’s best to do it in a few fields.

wow, i’m surprised that a lot of people haven’t heard of this thing.
