How should I reACT ?

I took SAT twice and got a good score ( M780, CR760, W800). I would like to apply for top schools. Is it necessary that I should take ACT also...because some of my friends who got decent scores in SAT are taking ACT too. I am in a dilemma as to what to do ..cause i don't want to waste my time studying for ACT but at the sametime i don't want to lose my chances at those schools. One of my freind's mom (sho works as a GC ) said it's good to show scores from both tests, while my GC says no need for that. what's your opinion?

I'd like to know as well

How are your SAT II scores? If they're as good as your sat scores, don't even bother taking the ACT.

SAT II scores:

Math IIC 800
Chemistry 750 (retaking cause I know I can do better)
US history 690

any more advice please

Unless a specific college tells you otherwise, it's never strictly necessary to take the Brand A test if you have already achieved good scores on Brand B (or the other way around). Check the college Web sites for their requirements, and check the College Board College QuickFinder college profiles of scores, e.g.,

to see if your scores are competitive for the college(s) you are applying to, and don't worry about another brand of test if you did well enough on the first brand.

See the featured thread on the Parents Forum "How do top scorers on tests fail to gain admission to top schools?" for information on what else matters besides test scores for getting into the more competitive colleges.

Good luck in your applications.

Don't worry about a 750 in chem, unless you KNOW you can get an 800.

But otherwise, with your scores don't bother with the act.

Thanks tokenadult for the info. My parents are asking me to take ACT just once to be on the safer side. I personally think that I should enjoy rest of the summer, reading Deathly hollows and finishing my summer work. Let's see where it goes :)
