<p>I guess you could avoid some smugness by not mentioning where you’re going. You could say that after careful consideration you decided to go elsewhere. Don’t forget to thank them for the admission offer.</p>
<p>Eh, actually, all the colleges I declined had a spot for “No, instead I will be attending ___ university/college in the fall” on their reply cards. I think they want to know where you are going for statistical purposes or something. :P</p>
