Drop/add has started, and I'm beginning to consider rearranging my schedule, if it is at all possible. My question, to those of you already attending UF, is this - what is the best way to arrange your classes? Is it better (in your opinion) to schedule them all back-to-back, or do you prefer giving yourself empty periods between your classes?

And another question - how hard is it to get from class to class in the fifteen minutes between classes? I have a lot of classes back to back that are .79 miles away from each other, .5 miles away, etc. I'll have a bike. Will I have any problems covering this distance?

Can't answer the distance question ... about time between classes. But some things to consider on the blocking v.s. non-blocking. My S has a job, so he prefers his classes blocked so that he might have a large amount of time together in order to work at that job. Now, he doesn't have to leave campus for his job, so there's no transit time he has to figure. However, he doesn't mind an hour between a class, let's say around breakfast or lunch because if that happens he'll head to someplace he can grab a bite, check up on his work emails, etc. He really hates the whole go to class, have two hours off (do I go back to the dorm? stay at the union? decisions) If he goes back to the dorm and gets involved with work (his job's on-line, actually), then he sometimes doesn't want to come back out to class. So, he keeps that in mind. Think of what kind of a person are you. Will you come back out? Do you need/want to work? Etc. etc.

I think you find out your preferences overtime. The earliest I like to the have classes is 9:35am. However, as a science major most of my upper level classes were 7:25 and 8:30am. I like science labs later in the day, but if its one of my 4 hour labs then early afternoon is best. Since I lived in the dorms I would just go back to my dorm between classes. I like to have 2 classes in a row, break, and then more classes. The distance thing you learn over time.

Not hard for most classes. Can get tricky with classes in Shands, Black, New engineering, physics, psych.
