<p>I notified my school that I got a scholarship a month ago and I just got the check today, which the check is pay to the order to my school. I just want to send the check along with my school id and with a small note reminder. However my dad wont let me send it unless I put a cover letter with it instead. I insist not to. What should I do? I'm not sure if this is a dumb question.</p>
<p>I would write a cover letter. I would also call the school and find out if they would like you to write your student number on the check.</p>
<p>Your dad is right (why do kids with no office/business experience always think they know more than parents?!) Little sticky notes are a pain and get lost easily. Write a 3-4 sentence letter on a full sized sheet of paper and attach the check with a paper clip. Call the school to make sure they don’t have another method, such as a downloadable form, as my D’s school does.</p>
