How should I spend my Junior->Senior Summer?

I'll definitely be studying for SAT

Also, I may participate in biomedical research if i get accpeted...

I'm still waiting for my application for hospital volunteering

I may do a program in which you help mentally slow kids...

The last 3 I listed, I'm not sure if they're available,,, so I gotta make sure there is a backup

What else is there that will impress colleges and make my summer meaningful?

if you’re planning your summer based on what ‘will impress colleges,’ you will not have a ‘meaningful’ summer

jesus el christo

Live for once. Without the burden of college.

Wow, nice responses. My resume as of now is very weak… in terms of extra curricular activities. Help me out and suggest what I can do. I can’t afford to just “Live for once” Come on

Do something you enjoy. Volunteering for stuff that you hate during the summer is the worst way to spend it. D:

Do something really great. Something that you really love.
Volunteering is still a good idea. You just need to do it for the right reason. If there’s something you are passionate about, you can tailor it to volunteering. For example, I like singing… so my junior summer, I went to nursing homes with my church and sang songs to the elderly/sick. There you go. That looks great on a resume and I had a great time.
Find something you like and do it.

see how much valium you can take

Oh, heres a legit idea: get a job. So you have work experience and so that you have plenty of money to spend when you’re out all night with your friends when you’re struck down with senioritis mid second semester.

If there really is nothing that you enjoy that you can possibly do, yeah just get a regular job. And take a class or two at college.

That puppy mentioned in the other thread will find a real use!

I suppose I can take some classes but what classes should I take?

that’s a great thing to ask, considering that we all not only know your exact interests but share them as well

-Volunteer
-Take a class somewhere
-Get a job
-Some sort of academic program

My fault,Poseur,

I’m interested in Bio stuff, so I applied to biomedical research at Cal State Fullerton through my AP Bio teacher, but if I get rejected I have no backup plan for that

I would like to do something like that - some kind of reaserch program, but don’t know how to look for one.

I am also interested in coaching basketball for little kids, but also don’t know how to find one.

I would like to do hospital volunteering but it’s difficult to find available hospitals. Everywhere is full.

Write a book, along with getting a job. The latter may be difficult considering the economy, though.

I think I’m going to get rejected from every summer program I applied to (I only have one left and I did a poor job on that b/c I didn’t care that much), so I’m worried about this.

Maybe I’ll write a novel. I think my aunt could get me published pretty easily. Or maybe I’d do a collection of short stories. Something, I don’t know. And I want to give blood a lot.

I love to volunteer, so ill volunteer, yay! Im going to try to get a meaning ful job and hopefully earn some savings/spending money. Its nice to plan out your summer, but it just sucks the fun and spontaneity of freedom out of you. And it is obvious that you are tryign to squeeze in everything purely for College App’s sake. So I would say, just do want you want.

If u want HYP

-RSI
-write a best selling novel
-find a cure for cancer
-try to solve a 100 year old math problem

Or

enjoy it cuz senior year 1st semester is filled w/ stress with apps and grades and SATs(if u waNna retake)

Get a job. Colleges love that, and you will love having the extra money.

DO YOUR COLLEGE APPS…AND FINISH lol
