How should one "analyze" the questions on the practice tests?

Hello,
I am just starting to prep for the SAT and am doing practice tests from the Blue Book. I understand that it is important to analyze both the answers that were missed and the answers that were correct, however, I am not quite sure how to effectively analyze these questions to improve understanding or technique. Are there any tips for this?

It depends on which section you’re referring to, but the best approach (for me at least) is to categorize based on the categories as written in a prep book. For example, in W, if you see an idiom error, make sure that you can recognize it as an idiom error. Believe it or not, recognizing the type of question and what it’s pulling for is the most important step in solving the problem.

You need to look for the pattern in what you missed. Chances are you’ll miss a certain type over and over. For math I’m clueless, but reading and writing is definitely doable

For CR, trace the correct answer back to the information in the passage, and figure out what wasn’t supported by the passage in the incorrect answers.
