Does anyone know when Syracuse lets the MT kids know if they have been accepted? And do they send a letter or email? Thank you!

Syracuse doesn't have rolling admissions- I think they start sending out acceptances mid-March. Don't know how the notification arrives.

It comes in snail mail.

My D received her MT acceptance letter via email on March 11 last year, after having auditioned in Chicago on Jan. 10. I recall that waves of emails went out over several days to students in various departments in the College of VPA, including Drama, both acceptances and rejections. We were checking the CC non-MT Syr threads around that time and many students were getting notified that weekend. Snail mail copy followed shortly after. Good luck!

Thank you mwparent!! It goes to show you how things can change year to year with auditions, requirements, and even how they notify and when. My D was in the cycle two years ago and the Syracuse acceptances came in snail mail. However, Syracuse faculty made a personal phone call with the offer to my D BEFORE the letter arrived.

Thank you, it's been such a long difficult process. A few less days waiting is nice, and an acceptance for D would be sweet!

What mwparent describes about last year was the same as what happened for my son at about that same time, after an audition in Dec.

does anyone know anything more, specifically a date of notification, for this year?

^They Don't Have a Specific Date

I called yesterday. Notices will begin arriving "the middle of March."

My D's friend auditioned for SU last year (got in but decided to go elsewhere) and she heard in mid-March.

Two years ago, the letter was dated March 11. However, I recall my daughter learning about the acceptance a little earlier than that. Sometimes when something significant happens in your life, you can remember dates in terms of "before" and "after". I just know that my D was in a car accident on March 13 and lived in the hospital for a bit after that. Her letter of acceptance may have come in the hospital if I recall. However, a faculty member called her at home to offer the acceptance sometime BEFORE she had the car accident (she was home after all). So, if they do it as in the past, the letters may be mailed around March 11 or so. I don't know if they call everyone who got in ahead of time. I only know that happened to my D but I am not sure what the norm is and if this is it or not. But the letters, I imagine will come out about the same time again, which was about what they said at the auditions: "mid March".

Should be soon?

My daughter received her acceptance letter today for MT. We live in Syracuse, so I expect everyone else should start checking their mail tomorrow. The letter was dated March 7 but there is no postmark on the large envelope which was from Syracuse University Office of Admissions. I would guess it was mailed yesterday, March 8, since we got it today. Also, in case anyone is wondering, she did not receive an email or a phone call about acceptance, just the letter (snail mail). Good luck everyone! Hope the mailman brings you all great news soon!!!

nydancemom, thank you for the great information. And a big congratulation to your daughter!

yes congratulations!! :)

Just wanted to let you all know that a few minutes ago my daughter received a phone call from Jim Clarke at Syracuse congratulating her on her acceptance. So I guess maybe they ARE making phone calls?? Here's hoping there are lots of CC kids with phones ringing today with good news!
And thank you everyone for the congratulations!

congrats to your D - nydancemom!!!

does syracuse waitlist usually?

YAY!!! Congrats everyone...keep waiting patiently.

Syracuse called today to offer me admission to their MT program while I was at school. It seems they have many different approaches to accepting their students...I am thrilled! :) Good luck everyone!!
