How soon can I transfer?

I'm going to be a freshman at UCD next year but I really want to go to UCI. When is the soonest I can possibly transfer? I've read about people transferring during the first quarter, but how hard will it be to transfer from UCD to UCI? Does the whole thing about units apply since I'm just starting out? And if I do get in, how do classes and housing work?

If that doesn't work, am I able to transfer in 1 or 2 years to UCLA or UCI? How hard is it to really transfer from UC to UC? Many people say it's really difficult but I know so many people who've easily done it.

Please help, thanks!

you can apply next fall and transfer in starting your junior year. Get a high gpa and you should be fine

You can apply this fall if you will have 90 or more units (I believe) at the time of transfer. For you, I guess that means you have to have many AP units completed or some CCC classes. You should definitely be able to transfer within 2 years. Apply at the start of your second year. It probably is going to be difficult. UCI does not give priority to students from other UC’s but UCLA does.
