how soon on-campus results?

does anyone know how long schools wait to decide on on-campus auditionees and send results? surely, they don't wait until after unifieds and other "big" auditions are complete, do they?

thanks!

They don’t notify people of acceptances until they have seen everybody who is auditioning for the year.

Most schools notify you around April 1, and you have until May 1 to decide which school you will attend.

It will vary from school to school. Unless a school has EA or ED for the major or is a rolling admissions school, most will notify sometime in March.

woah, even auditions on-campus in, say, november?

Perhaps, unless you have applied to the school Early Action or Early Decision (or it is a Rolling Admissions schools) AND the department makes decisions on admissions to the major before seeing all auditioning students.

It is really a question to ask each school (and department) directly, as each programs procedure will differ.

okay, thank you!

I’ve heard that Miliken tells you at the end of the audition if you are accepted or not! Don’t know of any other schools that do it that way.

GG was told she was accepted at the end of the audition, in NYC. We had visited the campus during the summer, and they let her make an apppointment here in NY to audition when they came to audition the candidates for masters program. We had been told when we visited in the summer, that she would have a good idea as she left the audition whether she had been accepted or not, and so it was.

Sorry forgot to mention, the above story was from last winter, Jan or Feb 2009 for entrance September 2009. It is all a blur, and I threw out the audition calender.
