How soon to get equity or SAG cards?

Hi guys! Wish I could give you updates, but my guys haven’t really road-tested the experiment yet – they’ve been swamped with school-related performances, senior showcases, upcoming graduation etc. I will say that AEA son did get agent even before showcase, and I suspect AEA and some good credits on his resume helped there. My other son is right on his heels, though. Time will tell. I’ll try to keep you posted, although my time here on CC is nearing its “expiration date” LOL.

Say it ain’t so @MTTwinsinCA! “Expiration”? Ha! “Recently-post-graduation” intel can be just as valuable.

If anything - post grad intel might be MORE valuable! 'Cause something tells me getting into college is a cakewalk compared to making it in the biz…

^^^ Yep. Wouldn’t have believed it but yep.

Here’s perhaps another reason to go for EMC points. Just found out about a 2016 MT grad from S’s school who has been awarded the Roger Sturtevant Award for Musical Theatre from Actors’ Equity Association. It’s a nationally competitive award named for a casting director who passed away in 2003, given to EMCs who have demonstrated outstanding abilities in the field of musical theater. It’s presented to one male EMC and one female EMC based on a video audition and two written letters of recommendations submitted with resume, headshot and application. Submission deadline is March 15 (2016) and comes with a $1000 check. No idea what the odds of winning are.
