@jozuko I’m in Short Hills. Same story here with power. Not looking good, they canceled school this whole week. Currently staying at cousin’s apartment in NYC. We tried to tough it out without power until today but our house got too cold.

Congrats Jgli! That was a quick decision!

Son accepted from St. Louis yesterday. 3.88 GPA, 2120 SAT. Good luck, everyone.

Some really impressive students! I know CC is skewed towards the more accomplished, but still, it is great to see. No wonder every class Tulane enrolls for the last few years is better statistically than the one preceding it. Makes an alum, and Tulane parent, proud of the school’s trajectory.

I didn’t even see this page. Congrats to everyone else who was accepted. I’ll be waiting anxiously and obsessively checking Gibson until I get a decision.

I’m in the same (unfortunate) boat as Bowler. But hopefully we will know soon enough. Congratulations to everyone who’s been accepted!

Yeah, I mean, technically my application wasn’t complete until a little over a week ago but it’s still hard to just sit here and wait. It’s still marked as incomplete and I was told to send my transcript and secondary school report, which I did already. If it doesn’t change in the next couple days I will probably call and see what’s up.

Took me around 2 weeks to hear a decision from the date of my completed application. Usually takes 3-5 days for any electronically submitted materials to be processed by the admissions office (excluding weekends). It never hurts to contact admissions, I did it to confirm my application was received and I was accepted the next day.

I did email them and they said they have not received the documents yet but they may have just not been processed yet, like you said. I will call sometime soon to confirm that they have everything.

I wonder if rejections will appear on Gibson or arrive by snail mail only?

Congrats to all who are getting in! My son is trying to check daily but we are also in the dark in NY. :(

Finally…

DS WAS ACCEPTED! Woo hoo!

He doesn’t know as he is out with my sister, helping a friend whose basement flooded during this week’s storm. I will remind him to check Gibson when he gets home as he might not like it that I checked first!

Love that he is doing community service when the acceptance came in…

^^^
Oh Linymom, such great news!!.. Have been waiting on pins and needles with you, hoping for the best! Yay and Yes, how cool that word came as he was out giving a helping hand!!

mavitale - I think non-acceptance (rejection sounds so harsh, lol) is posted, but obviously no one likes to talk about it. But last year when people were posting in a pre-determined format, many that got deferred learned of this through Gibson. http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/tulane-university/1227525-official-tulane-class-2016-decisions.html I don’t remember anyone saying they actually got turned down via Gibson. I don’t know if there is a way for them to do the usual “you are great, but there are so many great candidates this year we couldn’t take them all” speech on Gibson or not. That is the only reason I can think of they might not want to post it like that, no way to soften the blow.

Just checked Gibson for the billionth time and … Finally! the congratulations message!!! So happy for my son! Best day of post hurricane yet!

^^^
Congrats!!

jozuko - So Happy for you and your son! It’s a great day!

(plus, I see you now have 14 posts so you can send PMs!)

jozuko - That’s great, I know you were so anxious! Wonderful news.

Congrats to LINYMOM and son! I’m with you, checking Gibson constantly but if I see the message I will just remind my son to check… he even gets mad when he sees me on CC. LOL

And thanks, FC… I’m really happy to see so much good news here…hoping for the best for my son too! :D

Thank Linymom and congrats to u 2! And thank u Fallenchemist. U have both been such a help. After 3 full days of no power here in nj with no end in sight, cc has been such a lifeline to the outside world. The acceptance could not have come at a better time. It really made my day. Some heat and electricity would be nice to!

Congrats everyone. I am sure it is really nice news during madness.

My application still says incomplete but no longer lists any outstanding items. Hmm
