How soon?

How soon should I contact a uni. nabout transfering. my cc is of no help (as I want to transfer out of state)

When are you deciding to transfer? Many deadlines have passed...some schools have April 1, so if you're going to apply to them this year, you need to get right on that.

I'm hopping to transfer at the end of freshmen year deadline is December 1, 2006

'Certainly wouldnt hurt to start making appointments discussing coursework and stuff right now. Not only will you not get blindsided by a deadline or necessary class requirement you didnt expect to have to satisfy, you'll look dedicated and serious about your plan to transfer to their university.

If you wait too long, it might be too late to take a class they want you to have completed/raise your GPA/acquire the necessary number of credits/many other things you may not have considered without their help.

PS. When i decided I wanted to transfer, I contacted the school I just applied for in January all the way back in May of 2005 for an advising appointment, just to give you a time reference.

oh but there's more...I'm a senior in hs. I'm plaining on going to my local cc 1st and then transfer. I applied but did not get into Hampden-Sydney College, so i want to transfer moe but im tried.

more info: I'm taking 2 DE classes English 101 and Human Anatomy (BIO 201/202) I'm thinking about retaking the human anatomy course at the local cc this summer. But if it dosesn't transfer way bother? HSC says it will take DE classes on a case by case basis.

Do you have enough units to transfer out in freshman year? Also, some colleges might say that your transfer is too early. Most transfer during their sophmore year, where their units for their major (minor) has been fulfilled.

Also, check with the schools you want to apply to and ask if they have any "tours" where you can meet and talk to reps in your area.

I'm in AZ they are in VA.

Right, but sometimes colleges flies out representatives to various community colleges and high schools, or even hold seminars to discuss admissions. You should call the college and ask if they have any reps that are coming to your state/school/area.

Last year in a letter I got it stated: "hope to see you on our campus or at your high school" so from that--as no one came out--I doubt that they will come to AZ.

Also, I kindda don't want to call or email them so soon becuse of the letter i got in feb.

that said I was rejected for freshmen acceptance.
