How Soon?

I am planning on applying early action to Harvard & URI. Their deadlines are November 1st & December 1st respectively. What’s the earliest that I can send my application? I’ll have all of my information after the first day of school & it’ll put my mind at ease to have sent off my first round of applications!

On that note, would I recieve my admission/rejection sooner?

You would not receive any response any sooner.

Would you have your teacher and college counselor letters of rec?

Thanks for the swift responses.
@anxiousenior1 That’s unfortunate but understandable.
@doschicos Yes to the teachers & on the first day of school my counselor wants to go over my rec with me. He asked if I’d like it written early for my applications so he would do it over summer break.

You won’t get a reply earlier, no. Also, I don’t really recommend sending it is as soon as possible because IMO it matters more to put time into making it high quality. That being said, I sent in my application for my ED school two days early.

@Philpsych Rest assured I’ve put the upmost effort into my application. I’ve had my guidance counselor, college advisor, and friends triple check everything from my essays to my Common Application questions.

There are factors beyond your control even if you were to submit your apps on Sep 1st. For instance, the colleges will require your HS documentation from your counselor’s office. Those might not be ready for weeks or even into October. It’s nice to get it out of your way but you seem to be taking confidence in perhaps getting in earlier = better chances? It doesn’t work that way. Good luck nonetheless

Unless a school has rolling admission the date you submit the application will have no impact at all on the day you get your admission decision. And every school is different, but our HS did not have the transcripts ready to send until early October.
