How spoiled are you?

^ that’s what my parents said… i’ll move over there with u and i got angry and i slammed the door

never really thought about ASU… not big on my list. pretty good though

ASU’s fine but if you got in somewhere else and can afford it–going to ASU would probably be a mistake

same with u of A, even though u of A is slightly better

im glad my parents are just like “yea, we’ll just sell our house if you get in.”

im glad my parents are okay with me going to art school in general. plus i wanted to get a job but they said if i was only getting minimum wage they didnt want me wasting my time and would rather have me spending my time on important things (school, art, w.e). both of my parents grew up poor, my mom in an immigrant family, my dad is an immigrant, so now they want me to live my dreams

Probably a 7 or 8.

I barely have any chores. Like they would “like” for me to clean my room, make my bed, take my laundry basket downstairs, take my clothes upstairs when they’re cleaned, put dishes in the dishwasher when asked…help my mom out a bit with baking/cooking…watch after sibling every now and then but it’s not like I have assigned chores to do…

They pay for everything…like everything I need and most of the things I want. Don’t have to pay insurance or gas or SATs or college apps or prep books. The only thing I have to pay for are movie tickets, shopping sprees at the mall when I’m with my friends (if I go with parents, I dont have to pay) and stuff that they’re like nooo you really really dont need that, that’s stupid. Or why the heck do you want that? So…I really dont pay for much. Usually for clothes (…where 90% of my money goes…) and CDs/movies/food/little stuff

I dont ask for much…like I’ll pay for stuff when I really don’t have to because I feel bad asking my parents to pay for it when they’re paying for sooo much other stuff already. I have money saved up from my summer job (300 bucks…haha)…and it’ll probably last me a year!

So I guess I’m quite spoiled. It’s not like they let me go party every night…they’re a lot more strict than that but I get good grades, test scores, and they know I care about getting into a good college so they don’t bug me that much about it.

I don’t have a car and can’t even drive a car. So I guess I don’t have to pay gas or insurance. I take the city bus, which my parents pay for my 50 cents every once in a while.

I don’t have a cell phone nor iPod. No one’s paying here.

I get cloth from Wal-Mart (or similar stores), and my parents pay for that. But I only get new cloth about once half a year and new shoes when the old ones break.

I don’t get presents.

I don’t do any chores outside of my own room

My parents pay for my school cafeteria lunch

My parents pay for my SAT/ACT/AP tests

So I guess if you look at that, my parents pay for a lot of things I do…

My parents make between 180,000 and 200,000. My father’s retired. I don’t even have a permit so no interest in a car. They drive me everywhere.
I’m very very spoiled. Maybe an 8. My father gives me 10 dollars a week and pretty much any time I go shopping I can ask him for $60. When he takes me shopping once or twice a year he hands me his credit card and I can spend about 200. He gives me no price limit on books and he pays for my piano lessons. He does all this despite the fact that I’ve barely talked to him for the past two years.
My mother pays for dance and since she’s usually the
one who takes me places she ends up spending a lot on random little things for me.
We didn’t go on vacation this summer. We used to go on nice trips but they’re all too uncomfortable now because none of us can get along.
I have to some chores. I have to make up my bed and clean the kitchen twice a week. My father used to make me do stuff outside but he seems to not do it anymore since my sister left. Too much work for one girl I guess.
I have a cell phone, an iPod, a taste for caviar, exotic locales, and designer purses and clothing. I’m pretty spoiled. But it’s the fault of my mother’s family too. They’d buy me caviar and take me on first class trains and around New York in towncars ( paid for by my aunt’s publishers) and other ridiculous stuff.

On your scale, I’m an 11. My dad makes (gross) about 1.3 mil each yr. I got a new Infiniti G35 Sport as my first car, I pay for nothing, I have my own credit card, I rented out a club for my Sweet 16, I’m well-traveled, I have a maid, I order things that aren’t on the menu at restaurants . . . you get the idea. However, I won’t give myself a 12 because I grasp how incredibly lucky I am and am a big supporter of charities. Wow, I sound like such a brat.

wow…uh…i feel spoiled.
hooray $200 shoes

im 3 weeks past my expiration date

in 4 rep trade

Being spoiled has nothing to do with materialism, it has to do with expectations.

8
can basically do anything i want, parents arent filthy rich but they pay full college tuition and HS tuition for me and my bro (100g+ next year since gtown and penn are about 50g each).

since i get good grde and am in a good college they pretty much let me buy anything i want. just got bose speakers last night and bought some clothes. i seem spoiled, but im no brat since i live in a really small house so i guess im not a 10 on the spoiled/wealth meter.

also i feel guilty everytime i ask my parents for money to buy designer clothes and stuff since they are already paying alot in tuition and fees and i know its hard for them so i use my own money to buy most stuff (had job last summer made a few g’s).

Nice to see some other kids aren’t spoiled on here :)

Has anyone else still been the same rotation of like 5 or 6 t-shirts for the past 4 years?

I never get new clothes lol.

I always laugh when people say that they spent like $400 on American Eagle/Aeropostale or other name brand clothes. Then I say I haven’t bought new clothes in almost 4 years.

Yes Guitarman.

I’ve had 1 pair of pants for about 2 years now LOL.

I need a job and I apply tons I’ve probably put in 20 applications but no one is hiring.

If I got into Brown or Emory or somewhere like that I don’t know what I’d do. Those are my 2 biggest reaches and also most expensive. I’d probably have to turn them down.

you guys’ parents earn so much money! what do they do?

i’m an immigrant, parents earn $30k

best thing i probably have is high speed internet and a computer good enough for left4dead.

no car
automatic chores
job
self-motivated (like everyone else here)

i’m still pretty lucky compared to the rest of the world though…

^ That’s how I feel. I don’t have much but I’m very thankful for what I have and know that I’m still much better off than many people.

parents make about 1.2 million…but i dont think im spoiled…i dont have to pay for gas, clothes, anything like that and i have a card, but i have a used car that cost only 15k, get 30-40$ presents for christmas/birthday, dont spend too much money on anything. It’s nice being able to get something if you really want it, but i dont wanna buy stuff just for the sake of having it. I’m definitely thankful for what i have.

fromthesouth:

hopefully they’ll (Brown/Emory) give you a lot of financial aid.

My parents make less than 50K and I have been awarded a free-ride at WashU. I don’t think I’ve ever been happier than I was when I found out I wouldn’t have to pay anything to attend.

and lol I only have 2 pairs of jeans that fit. I have to keep wearing the one pair until the other gets washed.
