How stingy is Bentley with FinAid?

How generous is financial aid at Bentley? Let’s consider this situation for a top applicant at this school with EFC 0.

Do they offer the same or similar financial aid offer for the consecutive years in school given that external driving factors for it remain unchanged. Or is it just front loading of grants?

The NPC with the above info shows a final price of $9,000. Considering the NPC being nearly accurate, would the school consider an appeal to the Financial Aid offer for an increase of this $9,000 amount?

My son is attending there in the fall and received a great merit scholarship ($30,000 a year) but unless your child qualifies for one of the 5 or so full tuition awards they do not usually meet all need. Now my child does not have an EFC of even close to zero so I don’t know how they would respond to an appeal for financial need but our offer was significantly less than the calculator tool and we are paying more than our EFC would indicate and more than the calculator on their website indicated and when we appealed citing my son’s full ride offer from a competing school (including room board and books), they did not give us one single cent more (they were very nice when saying no and I did feel heard by the financial aid office they just weren’t able to increase his aid). That being said he is still going because the school is worth the extra $ in our opinion.

What are your son’s stats? Did he have a lot of community service and other extra curricular s? How is he liking Bentley??

My son graduated number 3 in his class with a 4.52 GPA and a 1530 SAT score. He was treasurer of his class and NHS as well as a 3 sport athlete and captain of the soccer team. He also did volunteer work in our community. He LOVES it at Bentley. He is in the honors dorm and loves that as well. He was concerned that the other kids in the honors dorm might not be as social but he is finding it perfect as they are social and like to party but not at the expense of their grades so a perfect match for him. He has also already been to fair for internships and has been recommended to one that takes freshmen. The head of his department emails him weekly with advice and assistance. We could not be happier with his choice.
