Is it hard to have alcohol in a dorm your first year?

100% depends on your RA.

It really is contingent upon your RA. Some floors are able to easily stash their alcohol away; others find it more difficult to do so and have gotten busted for possession. I’ve seen some pretty creative hiding places for alcohol already.

What are the consequences if your roommates get caught and you become a suspect too? What about the drug usage? Do partiers also try to use drugs to get high? Are there concerns about the side effects of drunk driving, fighting, and sexual assault? Ok, it may not be that bad. Would your roommate get drunk and vomit in the room? How about the smell of alcohol, smoke, or drugs? Why would that be the RAs responsibility? The RA may get into troubles if he/she is viewed as an obstacle to the illegal profit. You may be in trouble for the same reason. I thought that would be IU presidents responsibility. Take a look at the following links. IU should do something now before a tragedy happens.

Happened to me on the 2nd night of Welcome Week. My roommate got REPORTED by another student for drinking in the room, and our room wasn’t searched and no one said anything to me. Even after this, 30% of my floor has a drink in their hand at any given time.

Not that I’ve seen. But I’m sure it happens.

Concerns? No… but it happens. A friend of ours got mugged on Fee Lane near Briscoe and she had some bad gashes and bruises. It doesn’t seem like anyone takes precautions though. The campus is well lit and there’re almost always people around.

My roommate already did this, but he was very responsible about it. People tend to vomit in the bathroom sinks and it’s usually there for ~2 days.

An RA in Wright delivered Alcohol to the kids on his floor in brown grocery bags so no one who came by would know what it was. It was Keystone, but still alcohol nonetheless. No big deal if no one reports it. And honestly, it’s just beer.

LoonLake,

Don’t get addicted to CC. It is time for A-100.
Good Luck!

Yeah go do work! And then you can give me all your stuff and help me second 8 weeks when I take it. :)
