How strictly does LSE consider GPA?

Hi, I’m a junior at an Asian high school(that goes under the AP system).

I’m interested in UK universities, especially the London School of Economics and Political Science(LSE).
I know that LSE requires a GPA of 3.7, but still wonder if it is a strict requirement(like, one will have almost zero chances if under that score) or just a factor of consideration.
I’ve heard most UK schools don’t even require your GPA for application, but since LSE does require one, I wonder how much weight they put on GPA.
I have an unsatisfying GPA right now, but I can push it up to 3.8 by the time I apply.
Still, I’m concerned that my GPA might get me rejected.

Also, is it possible to cover lower a GPA with a near-perfect SAT score and 5 points on more than 5 APs? UCAS tariff points are hard to understand…

Can’t say definitely, but the APs are the most important.

What subjects are the GPA weaknesses in, and what do you want to study?
