<p>I agree, but there is a strong (or at least vocal) faction on CC that fiercely believes just the opposite. You see that contrary notion expressed a lot on the LAC vs. University threads.</p>

<p>The key words are “all the time”. But the reality is more likely that the “great scholar” doesn’t teach at all - simply lectures. (And the lectures can usually be had better - if the scholar is not a good lecturer - from a book.)</p>
