How the f*** do you fill in the Common app ECs?

Hi guys,

I have a quite extensive list of ECs and I want to have them registered in the common app.

What do you put in the "describe activity" field? You only have like 30 characters!!

What do you put in the "Position held, honors won, or letters earned" field? You only have like 30 characters too!!

thx

yea... i struggled with it too..
but juss try to shorten it like.. a lot!..

for example, describe activity : ------club
position held/honors won...etc : president of the club

or something like that.

if you want to elaborate, do it in your essay, or in the short answer question(most meaningful activity)

what about not filling in the part of the common app dedicated to the ecs and put all the ec info in the additional notes?

i wouldn't quite suggest doing that.. i didnt' have that problem much, as im not that into EC's..

what i would suggest doing is to, first of all, try to pick the top however many spaces there in the common app. then try to fit as much as you can, and elaborate in the "additional space" however, if ur going to put something in the additional space, make sure it's important...like if u were an officer more than once, or if you won some major medals...

could someone please show me a pdf draft of the common app so I can see how you've used the space available?

dude haven't you heard, the new trend isn't putting as many EC's as possible, its doing a couple that you are passionate about and devoting all your time to it.

you could also do a resume - i did

i plan to submit an ativity list in the additional information section(electronically), is that a good idea?
