How the hell can you guys all be getting 730+ on math?

Srsly, I dont get this. No matter how hard I practice and I bet Ive practiced the most here, I cant get above 700. Srsly, are you guys a bunch of ing geniouses or am I just a retard? Or are you guys just lying? Seriously, its like 1 wrong on the whole *ing test and its already knocked down to a 750 it seems...
Srsly, what is your secret. I must be missing sth here. No matter how hard I try, I just cant achieve my goals. And ppl here are comin in and saying *
** like "Yea i took it once didnt study, got 750" Those ppl **** me off beyond imagination.

I got 770 on the math - up from 640 (you read that right) - by studying very hard. Just keep working at it.

I kept scoring in the mid-600s on the practice tests, and the first time I took the real test I got a 650, but the second time my score increased 110 points to 760. I'd barely even studied (one or two practice sections the night before), so I think I was just lucky.

lmao you guys are the kind of ppl that **** me off. Not that I'm ****ed at you ofc, but just a little jealous. Try to understand me...I really did practice hard and to not even get 700 is depressing. Sometimes I just feel stupid...

M4gici4n, don't adopt an "impostor" complex, where you achieve a lot but don't think it's enough or start doubting your intelligence. I'm sure you can get over 700 if you practice hard enough. (I'm hoping to go from 660M this time to over 700 in the spring).

I got an 800. Seriously, all you need is:
1) knowledge of basic math principles
2) a keen eye
3) a good night's sleep

Just keep doing practices, but ultimately what you need is to be extremely alert on test day.

I ask the same question about CR and writing...

for people who were not born to take the SAT repetition is the key
do as many practice problems as you can and youll start to see patterns with all the problems and youll notice the same concepts are occuring but just in different problems

yeah, with the SAT math problems, they ask the same concepts over and over but just with different numbers each time. So if you put in the time to practice hundreds of SAT problems, you'll know what to do right away for each problem. You have to be familiar with them enough so that so surprises jump out you when you take the actual test.

the other problem is, I can never get a good nights sleep b4, b/c Im so nervous. >_<;;

Oh M4gici4n, =[ I'm the same thing like you. I could not even go over 510 for the Math. =/ I suck at SAT. >>; You people, do not tell me I need to practice more. I think I have found a better way to testing myself. =] I did tried the Xiggi's method and other companies' methods, it just does not work for me. What's your method M4gici4n? :P I think I'm going to put my method to the test and see what I get for January SAT. X]

i've always found standerdized math test to be easy, but i always struggle with standerdized reading and writing

Sometimes you just have to let it sit for awhile and then go back to it after a few weeks. It refreshes your mind.

I got an 800, but believe me, I had to study for it. I suggest using the Barron's book.

you have to be asian.............jk

Well being asian helps, you automatically gain 100 points when you bubble that in as your ethnicity. jk

Im asian Indian actually

I went from 650 to 770 w/o studying. AP Calc just helps out I guess

I think its a combination of luck and not making careless errors...
I remember the first SAT math I took had these weird logic questions that didn't have any numbers in it.. and I was like *** this isn't math!

But the next time I took it didn't have those haha.

All you have to do is do loads of practice. Haha, do a lot of questions, and fast. Math League questions helped, especially those 7+8th grade ones with 30 questions for you to do in 30 minutes. It trains you to go for the most efficient way to do things accurately. =] It helped me, anyhow. 800.

Have you tried the ACT?

it's luck. I agree, most people practice a lot and they don't see much improvement. I dunno, it sucks. I went from a 660 to 740. Pure luck. I wasn't any smarter that day. In fact, I was probably dumber because I went to see Borat that day ( like at 2 am). haha.
