How the prestigiosity ratings became green!

<p>If you all haven't noticed, we now have a method of amassing our own prestigiosity (called "reputation") here on CC. If you like somebody's post, you can click on that little scale icon under the name, and add to the poster's rep. Presumable you'll eventually get more green dots if you are well-thought-of.</p>

<p>In the notice of this program, it said there would be a way to take away rep, but I don’t see it. It’s probably just as well. Maybe the mods will take it away if you get infractions.</p>

<p>I was reading Dooley’s explanation and it said you can also provide negative feedback. I am assuming you can get to the sinkhole. I guess the feature for neg feedback will become available soon.</p>

<p>This is strange. i clicked on a poster and it went from “X is on a distinguished road” to “X will be famous soon enough.” What is the point of a rating system for posters unless it’s easily visible without hovering over the green board, and unless it’s evident what the end game is? (# of stars, # of likes, etc.) I’m confused!</p>

<p>How do you see your points? And how many can you give out a day before the well runs dry? It would be a shame if everyone clicked on after the first hour each day were to get nothing for the effort!</p>

<p>I imagine you could open 20 new accounts and click on your own stuff all day long. It won’t take long to game this system and make it pointless.</p>

<p>I always like to run in the middle of the pack and since most of my favorite posters have one green thingy I’m content…for now.</p>
