So, do resmue padders... look bad on admissions? Would you rather just omit the little "stupid clubs" that you were in rather than stuffing them on the application?

I omitted everything that I felt wasn't important to me. If I spent less than an hour a week on it, I left it out. (For instance, decorating Tournament of Roses floats a couple of days every winter -- not necessary for me.)

I didn't submit a resume and I also only put down what was actually important. I think if you put down lots "little stupid clubs" it distracts any reader from your acomplishments and who you really are.

If you have substance, then you shouldn't mix that with little things. If you don't, well those little things do take up some room.

just my 2 cents :)

i never even had a resume. if i did, it would be like a half a page. but, what i did have was pretty insane.

I had a one-page resume. I put down the stuff that were important, and the admission knows if someone's sincerely involved in a club. so even if you pad the resume, it won't help much. but you can.

I didn't submit a resume either--you should be able to make a good strong impression on your application because a resume with frivolous activities won't help you at all.

Yeah, try to leave out the trivial stuff. But if there are little activities that are actually important to you but not significant or consistent enough to take up space on their own, one thing you can do is to bunch them under big categories (but choose the categories well).
