How times flies

I'm with redhead on this one. Basic and first semester seem to have flown by. I'm sure this year will be over before we know it.

And don't worry, flymom! Hornet's an EMT, so he'll be rescuing Basics rather than breaking them. ;)

It's me you need to worry about...he's gonna rescue the basics I break. I'll be working 2nd BCT as a flight NCO. Interceptors C-flight!! See ya'll in Jack's Valley. Hehehe. :P

muahaha. :) Send plenty my way G4C!

Hahaha, poor basics. Who knows, maybe one of ya'll will run into me at the Chapel (like I ran into hornet).

That was a funny occasion. Super stract Falcons uses his basic responses to grab my attention at which point I chuckle and tell him to RELAX! :) Aw the good brainwashing of BCT!

Again, hornetguy (and G4C), if our S does get in next year, you have our permission to give him a few extra push-ups each time he screws up during BCT (which I expect to be often, if he's anything like his old man). Let him know there are way of saying "we miss you". :)

Please try not to permanently damage him in the process!

Okay you "guys" (hornetguy and Guy4Christ) you're making me worry even more! I'll be rummaging through 5th grade stuff even before she's gone! I don't think I was cut out for this. Hopefully D will do fine but I think I'm gonna need the EMT! I try to imagine her being screamed at and it just makes me sad. (Of course I can scream at her and that's okay...) Is there a support group for frantic, paranoid, far-away moms?

Check out the Service Academy Parents board... they may be able to help :)

There's also a variety of Parent Groups that I'm sure will get in touch with you.

Flymom - don't worry! Each graduating class, like ours, 2010-ers, has a group website set up where the parents whine, and cry, and pray, and scream at and to each other on behalf of their BCT/"cadets". :) You will never be alone. The support network at USAFA is large and strong. So, you not only have the old folks to help you along, but the parents of the new class bands together each year.

Haha, I remember one of the last days of BCT this year. All the 3 digs just got out of some briefing and headed to Mitch's. There was one super-stract, almost 4 dig. I think he kinda freaked out at 1200 upperclassmen walking in. He tried to go through the buffet line at perfect attention...I didn't know whether to laugh or feel bad for him. Since, it the line was almost exclusively 3-digs, a few of us told him to chill.

2010's: do you know or have a pretty good idea yet of what your cadre assignments are for BCT?

I am working 2nd BCT for Interceptors C Flight.

I will be an EMT for 2nd BCT. So, if you fall out on a course...I will be there to fix you and send you back to the grind. :)

Cadre...at Lackland.

Ah, you got AETC I see. Have fun with that and the Wed inspections from now on!

I'm working 2nd Beast Group Staff. 2012 will be seeing a lot of me... evil smile Just kidding. Sort of. I'm excited for my position. It'll be hard but it's a good position so that I can help give basics a great experience.

Hmm, so you'll be one of the cadre that all of 2012 will do pushups and other stuff to memorize your name? Sweet. ;)

2011 has now completed 7 months of their 11 month journey. And in 4 short months the 2010 CCer's on this forum will be 2 digs...though it seemed like ONLY yesterday that they were basking in the post-recognition "high" during last year's orientation. Time does fly.

Oh yeah baby...only 44 days!
