How to accept Loans

I have recently decided to taking out the loans that NYU is giving me. How do I accept taking out the Stafford Loan, Unsub Loan, and Plus loan? Anyone here can point me to the right direction? Thanks.

Log into Netpartner, go to awards and accept awards for the loans. By the way, in order to receive your scholarships you have to accept those too. You can accept your loans in full or I think you can type the desired amount.

Till when do we have to decide if we want to take out these loans? I ask this because NYU hasn’t given us information on what dorm we are so I do not even know if I am in the low cost option. If I am in a low cost option, I do not think I need to take out loans, but if I am not, I am sure I will have to take out loans. Is there a deadline to accept the loans?

You can always take out the loans that you need and if it turns out you get the low-cost housing you can just turn around the pay the money back without any interest. I took out the maximum for my loans, due to a similar situation, and at the end of the semester I will return whatever money I dont need. I would rather have the money and pay it back right away, than not have the money and not afford my housing or classes (Im sure you feel the same).

Also, you can keep the max on your loans and wait until next year to take out less. You might pay more in interest your first year, but at least you wont get to the middle of the year and realize you dont have enough for food or supplies. Hopefully by next year you will know your spending habits and can take out loans accordingly.
