what is the policy at maryland on tickets? Wondering mainly for basketball and football as I assume its easier to get tickets to other sports.

i know for two of the other two schools I applied there is a lottery where each person gets 2 tickets to 1 game every year in basketball and football

Is Maryland like that?

For everything except football and men’s basketball, you can just show up with your student ID to get in.

For football and men’s basketball, you use this website: https://www.ticketreturn.com/umd/

You make an account on that site to get tickets. Basically about a week and a half before each game there’s a 2-day window to request a ticket. Following that is a 2-day period to “claim” your ticket after you get an e-mail to do so. It’s called a lottery, but it’s really not because the allotment for students rarely gets filled up, or at least not until the days leading up to the game when anyone who didn’t request tickets can get leftovers.

So you won’t have problems getting tickets, except the only game that there’s a true lottery for - the men’s basketball game vs. Duke. Everyone wants to go to that one so some people can’t get tickets. You can increase your chances of getting a Duke ticket by going to all the other men’s basketball games before it (except the one’s over break of course, unless you live close). You get points for each game you attend, which will help you in the lottery. But for the football games and the rest of the men’s basketball games, if you request a ticket on time, you’ll have no problem getting a ticket for it. Even if you miss the request period you should still be able to get a ticket after, especially with football.

Each year the points start at 0 again, so freshman don’t have a disadvantage.

alright thanks man sounds like a pretty good system definetely much easier to get tickets this way
