How to actually submit essay - format, etc

Hi, I think I am finally done with my essay and am ready to submit my common app. Do you copy and paste your essay into the application from word or do you attach it as a word document to the app? And is there a preferred format - ie single space.. what font and size text? Thanks!

yes, I never thought about that. How are we supposed to submit our essays?

anyone? what’s the format supposed to be? or it is better to submit the essay in one of those “text boxes” in commonapp?
Also, how long can/should it be? Mine is 790 words and exactly two pages double-spaced.

Try to have it fit on one page with 12 pt font when you upload it. Single spaced is better, imo, because it won’t look as long. If the font is smaller than 12 pt, or it goes into a 2nd page, there’s a chance it will not get read entirely.

well, isn’t there a format applicants supposed to stick with? Like MLA? Margins (1" or 1.25"), Font (Times New Roman or Calibri), Size (10,11,12), Single- or double-spaced… is there a specific format?

nothing like that?

TNR 12 pt, 1 inch margins, double space
