How to affectively study AP World History?

What do I need to know- concepts, dates, events, all of the above?

don’t take it if you don’t know effect vs. affect

It’s called a typo, twit.

O ok I’m using Princeton review, are you self studying?

I would avoid AP world, considering its essays are formulaic and its content diverse and in depth.

I just try to enjoy what I am doing when I study it. My teacher insists that I take notes, but I don’t (except for occasionally jotting down a few names). Instead, I try to focus on appreciating the complexity and well… awesomeness of the history. I’ve noticed that people that try to enjoy it do better (I have a 99% in the class), otherwise they get overwhelmed. John Greene’s World History crash courses are really good right before tests.

@whogrl444- Oh yeah, I forgot that my idol made a whole series dedicated to this stuff. But are the videos in depth enough for the AP exam?

John Green fan? Or simply a Fran

Oh Jeez this class bores the crap out of me. I suggest you make sure you know the general relationships between major empires, comparisons between them, the growth of empires over time, the time frames (at least the centuries, if not exact dates) and know what happened in General continents such as Africa, Asia, and Europe. It’s also important to know about trade Sub-Sahara trade routes, Columbian exchange, etc. The main concern, for me at least, are the CCOT and Comparison essay’s especially because it is so general and gives so much room to talk about anything so you actually really have to know your stuff…

But the content doesnt go too indepth since its such a vast area of content. better than APUSH atleast, LOL.

People say that knowing dates isn’t necessary, but I think it fortified my essay and it definitely helps narrow down MC answers sometimes. I mean, when they read your paper and you’re the only one who can have exact chronology and be like BAM Glorious Revolution 1688 BAM Edict of Thessalonica 380 BAM Sui Dynasty 581 BAM BAM BAM. That’s gotta be impressive I’d think.

I just took it yesterday, though, so I can’t guarantee you what score I’ll get. Also, read my message.
