How to apply for BS/MD & pre-med at Boston University

Hi,
My son wants to apply for BS/MD at BU. But, he would like consider it for pre-med opportunity if he is not selected for BS/MD for its close proximity to medical facilities.

BU clearly says Accelerated Medical Program application is clearly for BS/MD program. Can we make a separate application for Pre-Med track without jeopardising BS/MD track.

What is the process ?

PS -
California based East Indian Male
His grades 9-11 : 3.94 (UW) ; 4.28(W)
His superscored SAT : 1570 (Math 800, English 770)
APs taken at school - Calculus AB, Calculus BC, Chemistry, Physics, Statistics, Spanish.
APs planned for senior year - English, Biology, Computer Science, Human Geopraphy
APs taken Online from University of California approved list - Psychology, Envionmental Science
Research -
Working on mechanics of an artificial limb. He published papers with his partner and professor in 6 biomed, mechanical engineering publications.
Extra Currliculars -
Hospital Volunteering
Leadership position at clubs in the school

From this statement:
“Applicants to the Accelerated Program will be considered only for admission to this program.”
it appears that if you apply to the accelerated program and are denied you will not be considered for regular admission.

I contacted admissions dept. They clearly mentioned. You can only apply for one program only. There is no backup admission to undergrad school like other BS/MD.
