How to ask for a grade raise after AP Exams?

Some of you may or may not have heard of grade raising- in some schools of my district, students who get a B or C in their AP classes but get a 4 or 5 on the AP Exam can ask for their grades to be bumped up and its left to the teacher's discretion. I got a B in AP Calc BC this past semester, and I really need to raise that. I think my main problem was that I just didn't know how to study calculus, but I invested a heck of a lot of time in that class and the teacher knows it. I had an A- until the final- but anyway long story short, if anyone knows about the grade raising policy, how can I convince my teacher to do that for me (should I get a 4 or 5 on the AP calculus exam)? Also, if anyone has any tips for the class/exam in general they would be hugely appreciated!

I think this is a serious question. I need help in this area.

I struggled a lot with BC calc last year. I asked my teacher if there was any way I could possibly earn extra credit or if he could bump up my grade since I had a B+ (I was .5 points away from an A-). He said he still had to add some grades in and he would curve the grades, but my grade never ended up changing.
After you request for a grade bump, you don’t really have all that much power; it’s up to the teacher.
And AP scores come out in the late summer after grades are finalized, so how would your teacher know your score before submitted final semester grades?

My advice for calc is to stay after for tutoring. Trust me, tutoring and group studying helped me a lot. Also, read upcoming lessons ahead of time, before your teacher actually teaches it. This way, you have a basic understanding of what you will learn in class and won’t be confused and overwhelmed with the new material.

Good luck!
