<p>In my essay, I detail being cynical of the obligations set forth by immigrant parents in order to show growth from that person in someone who tries to be more ambitious rather than someone who just follows convention, though I've received criticism that it focuses too much on the negative side of me rather than the positive.</p>
<p>How can I do this without being a typical Asian who has high expectation-having parents?
Or is this essay topic not worth doing because it may be trite?</p>
