How to be a Psychiatrist?

My eventual goal in my career is to become a psychiatrist. However, I am a bit unsure of what to do to get there. I am currently in high school, so should I major in Psychology and take a pre-med program, culminating in Medical School? When I am at Medical School, is there a specific route to being a psychiatrist, or do I merge with another subject? Any suggestions would be fantastic.

Major in anything you want. Take the required premedical courses. (It's not a program.) Then you go to medical school. At the end of your THIRD year of medical school, you will pick courses for your fourth year. You will pick a psychiatry-heavy slate of courses. Then midway through your fourth year, you pick psychiatry residencies.
