How to become a paid ACT tutor

Hey guys, I’m a freshman in high-school who is interested in being a tutor for the ACT. How would one become a paid tutor in Atlanta GA? Would any services or companies would hire me, or would I have to be an independent tutor?

Background:
Took ACT in 7th grade, scored a 29 composite with a 35 in English and Reading.
About to take ACT again in 9th grade, pretty confident I will score in the 34 to 36 range.
I have a 4.2 GPA.

Post a flyer in your school’s bulletin or your local starbucks.

I think it would be odd to hire a tutor who is younger than the student being tutored.

Have you thought about putting up flyers or advertising on a neighborhood Facebook page that you could help tutor younger students in math or another subject?

You are not qualified to charge for such a service. Try doing some tutoring for free (not ACT though, until you have a real valid score, your 29 isn’t relevant).
Try title one middle schools or high schools with great need where you can peer tutor in your area of strength. Are there refugee students? ESL students? You can make an actual impact and do service. Once you have developed skills in a couple of years maybe you will have the ability to teach and maybe you will have a real ACT score worth leveraging.

I agree with the above reply. As a student, I would have a hard time hiring someone who wasn’t at least my age, who hadn’t scored at least a 35. Maybe find a tutoring subject that’s less… serious (idk if that’s the right word). Homework help for younger kids would probably be a good place to start.
