How to best approach Professors for recs?

I have to get 2 professors to write good recommendations for me, because I'm applying to Brown and it's really important.

1 professor I am currently doing research for, she's researching on Law. She really thanks me for my help, so should be ok, but I'm worried she will think I'm just helping her because of the rec. Would asking her be good for a transfer rec ? She has taught me before also.

There are 2 other candidates I can ask, 1 is my tutor, who did not teach me but I guess he's a nice person and may write a reference based on what I give him.

The other is a Prof. from Stanford University who wrote a recommendation letter for me LAST MONTH when I applied to the UK. I'm worried she'll think I'm non-committal for applying to the US after applying to the UK (no result yet). However she did teach me some classes.

Who should I approach ?

HOW should I approach them?

Thanks and I really need some advice.

The CA instructions for the Instructor Evaluation are:

It doesn’t sound like either your research prof or tutor qualify for writing you a LOR.

Hmm, 2 taught me a full credit course. The other is my tutor who didn’t teach me.

If I want to ask the tutor for a recommendation (as an extra) would that be ok?
