How to best calculate GPA?

My transcripts are a little odd, so I was thinking I might ask how it would be best for me to calculate GPA. To be brief, I attended a community college before transferring to a four year school. In addition, I was forced to initially withdraw from the 4 year school and return home, where I took a single class at my old cc for fun while waiting to return.

So anyway, here are the issues:

1) When I was in highschool, I took an AP Chemistry course, and as part of this course, I did lab work at this cc. Though it was only 1 unit, I'm pretty sure it will show up on my transcript (it shows up on the unofficial one, for example). Should I include this in my GPA calculations, given that it was before I officially began attending the cc?

2) At the cc, I took trigonometry and pre-calc, which for the cc might have technically been upper division classes, at least based on the course number assigned to them (i.e. 260 as opposed to 45). However, I'm pretty sure that as far as any serious university is concerned those are essentially remedial math courses, not upper division courses. Should I include them?

3) I took a single course at cc while waiting to return to my 4 year university. Should I include it? Again, I'm almost positive it will show up on my official transcripts. I ask this because it was taken after I had transferred to the 4 year.

Anyway, I just don't want to mess up GPA calculation or get accused of fudging the numbers. The schools to which I am applying will do their own calculations, right?

Thanks!

Usually, you match any GPA calculations to the transcripts, unless courses span the award of a degree.

I would include ALL of your CC grades in one GPA, ALL of your 4-year courses in a second GPA, and ALL courses (transferred or not) used to complete your degree in a third GPA. Which you actually include will depend on the format of your application, but they usually ask for each school, so that would be the first two GPA’s. If they also or instead ask by degree, then you would use the third.
